The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of.
Braise Pascal’s “Pense” is well-known for “Man is a thinking reed.”
This does not mean that humans are great because they can think, unlike animals and plants.
Pascal says:
It only takes a drop of water to crush a reed.
Man is noble because he knows his own weakness.”
The first step is to open the heart to empathy, which encompasses reason.
That is the reasoning of the heart.
I am a reed.
